It’s recommended to start with a fresh base configuration – rather than using the initial NS700 wizard.

Pre-requisites

1. KX-NS700 version: 4.42025 or above.

2. One of the following supported DSP are installed inside system:

  • KX-NS5110 (1-10 trunks)
  • KX-NS5111 (11-30 trunks)
  • KX-NS5112 (31-100 trunks)

3. One of the following supported SIP Trunk Licenses are installed:

  • KX-NSM102
  • KX-NSM104
  • KX-NSM108
  • KX-NSM116

4. System is fully registered on Panasonic Partner Portal.

Step One: Connect to the PBX

1. Start the Panasonic Unified Maintenance Console.

2. Click Connect, verify that you will be doing so at the INSTALLER level and choose the method of connection:

  • LAN
  • RS-232
  • Modem
  • USB to Connect to your PBX for interactive configuration.

3. Provide the IP address of the MPR card and the password of the INSTALLER Level.

4. Click Connect.

Step Two: Login to the PBX

  • Verify no pop-up for registration.
  • Verify system version at top.

Step Three: Setup IP Address, Gateway, and DNS

1. From Network Service, select IP Address/Ports.

2. Enter in the desired IP address and Subnet Mask (default is 192.168.0.101 /24).

3. Enter in the IP address of the Default Gateway.

4. Under DNS Settings, use the following DNS server address:

  • 8.8.8.8 (preferred)
  • 8.8.4.4 (alternative)

Step Four: Verify SIP Trunk License Loaded

1. From PBX Configuration, select 1. Configuration > 1. Slot > [Activation Key Status].

2.  Verify row IP Trunk (ch) shows at least 2 or higher in Features in total.

3. Click [Apply] > [OK].

Step Five: Add V-SIPGW16 Card to Virtual Slot

1. From PBX Configuration, select 1. Configuration > 1. Slot and mouse over the Virtual Slot in the bottom of your screen.

2. Select V-SIPGW16 in the top of your screen (under Trunk Slot Card), and drag it into Trunk slot 1.

3. Hover over the added card and drag into OUS so that configuration changes can be made.

  • Red dot = OUS
  • Green dot = INS

Step Six: Update main Shelf settings

1. Hover over the V-SIPGW16 card and select Shelf Property.

2. Ensure the following configurations are set:

NAT Traversal

Off (default setting)

NAT Keep Alive Packet Sending Ability

Enable (default disabled)

SIP Called Party Number Check Ability

Disable Low → High (default is High → Low)

3. Click [Apply] > [OK].

Step Seven: Configure SIP Trunk

1. Hover over V-SIPGW16 card and select Port Property.

2. From the Main Tab, ensure the following configurations are set:

Channel Attribute

Basic Channel

SIP Server Name

‹domain›.jive.rtcfront.net

Note: Replace ‹domain› with your unique domain (found in parentheses at the top of the admin dashboard).

3. If using more channels, the Channel Attribute for each additional channel should be set to Additional Channel for…

4. Click [Apply] > [OK].

5. From the Account Tab, ensure the following configurations are set:

6. From the Register tab, ensure the following configurations are set:

Register interval

300 seconds (default 3600)

7. Click [Apply] > [OK].

8. From the Calling Party tab, ensure the following configurations are set:

Header Type

P-Preferred-Identity Header (default – From Header)

From Header - User Part

PBX- Clip

9. Click [Apply] > [OK].

10. From the Called Party tab, ensure the following configurations are set:

Type

Request-URI (default is To Header)

11. Click [Apply] > [OK].

Step Eight: Configure the DID Table

1. From PBX Configuration > 10. CO & Incoming Call > 3. DID Table, ensure the following configurations are set:

  • Enter the DID numbers or phone numbers of the account
  • A valid destination is entered for day, lunch, break, and night.
  • Enter extension numbers or group numbers.

2. Click [Apply] > [OK].

Step Nine: Add CLIP ID to Extension Field (Optional)

1. From PBX Configuration > 4. Extension > 1. Wired Extension > 1. Extension Settings, Clip tab, add CLIP ID.  This is the caller ID you wish to show for each extension (blank by default).

2. Add CLIP for the Incoming Call Distribution Group Settings > ICD Group Button (blank by default).

Tip: Can also be set for Portable Stations.

Step Ten: Put SIP Trunk IN-SERVICE and Test

1. Navigate to PBX Configuration > 1. Configuration > 1. Slot and hover over Virtual Slot and the V-SIPGW16 card to select INS. Should see green indication on card

2. Verify Port Property Connection column reads INS, to ensure it is connected properly.

Tip: You may need to OUS and INS a couple of times if it’s the first time connecting to Jive Network.

3. Click [Apply] > [OK].
