Jive Mobile

Setup Required

Before you can use Jive Mobile, you must have a registered JiveID and at least one device assigned to you by a system admin.

With Jive Mobile, you and your employees can use personal devices to talk and text from a business number—without surrendering your private phone numbers. You can also easily track metrics to gain insights into usage for each individual employee. Enjoy secure, HD audio quality, battery-life optimized, and reliable mobile productivity.

Get Started

Install App

1. Click here to go to the App Store.

2. Tap [GET] for the Jive Mobile app.

The app will then appear on the home screen.

Device Settings

To maximize functionality, Jive recommends enabling all of the following settings.

From the home screen, go to Settings > Jive (you will need to scroll down through a list of all the installed apps).

Location

Allows the app to access your location. This must be enabled to apply location based rules.

Contacts

Allows the app to access contacts stored on your device; merging your personal contacts with the system directory.

Microphone

Allows the app to use the device’s microphone.

Camera

Allows the app to use the device’s camera.

Notifications

Defines how notifications are displayed on your device for incoming calls, messages, etc.

Background App Refresh

Allows the app to receive phone calls, messages, etc. when it is open but not actively running on the screen.

Cellular Data

Allows the app to use cellular data when not connected to Wi-Fi.

Home Tab

Line Selector

Select Extension:
Defines which line and device is used to make/receive calls and SMS messages.

Do Not Disturb:
Silences call notifications on your mobile device. Enables DND for the line.

History

Displays missed calls and messages, and new voicemail.

Recents Tab

Recents

Displays missed calls and messages (most recent appear at the top). Tap a contact to return their call, or a conversation to view and reply.

+

Creates a new message conversation.

Update Recents

Swipe down to refresh message conversations.

Hide Recents

Swipe left on a message or call and then tap [Delete] to hide it from your recents.

Note: Messages will reappear once the conversation resumes.

Dialer Tab

Search

Searches for a contact. Contacts that match your entry will appear below. Tap any result to instantly call that contact.

Delete

Tap the backspace button to delete digits.

Contacts

Displays a list of either recent contacts or matched contacts. Tap any result to instantly call that contact.

Keypad

Displays the dialable keypad to make an outbound call.

Initiates a voice call with the entered contact.

Contact Tab

All Contacts

Displays all contacts.

Favorites

Displays only favorite contacts.

Tip: Tap [Add to Favorites] while viewing the contact’s information to add a contact to favorites.

Search

Searches for a contact. Contacts that match your entry will appear below. Tap any result to instantly call that contact.

Contact List

Displays a list of either all contacts or favorite contacts. Tap a contact to view/edit contact information.

+

Adds a new contact.

Settings Tab

Location Based Rules

Defines how the app behaves when the device enters or exits a specified location boundary (geo-fencing). For example, if you want to prevent taking work calls when you are home, etc.

Note: The app must have location services enabled. before applying location based rules.

Map
Defines the location boundary. The device must be inside the desired location boundary as the map pin cannot be moved.

Enter rule name
Name by which the location based rule is identified.

Select action on entry
Action when the device enters the location boundary.

Select action on exit
Action when the device exits the location boundary.

Extension

Selects the extension used to make and receive phone calls.

Options

Enable Calling
Toggles inbound and outbound calling permissions on/off.

Do Not Disturb
Prevents incoming calls from interrupting, but allows notifications to reach you.

Show Favorite's Presence

Enables presence monitoring allowing you to visually monitor other lines (extensions) to know whether or not one of your favorites is on an active call.

Note: Contacts that have not been added as favorites can only be monitored from within contact details.

Incoming Calls

Caller ID

Displays the caller’s name and phone number.

Decline

Declines the incoming call and sends it to voicemail.

Accept

Answers the incoming call.

In-Call Features

Ends the call.

Puts the call on hold.

Mute

Mutes/Unmutes your microphone.

Keypad

Displays/Hides the dialable keypad.

Speaker

Enables/Disables the speakerphone.

When other bluetooth devices are available, options to connect to these devices will display.

Transfer

Transfers the call to a third party, the original call is ended, and no confirmation is made to determine whether the transferred call is answered or if the number is busy (blind transfer).

Warm Transfer

Places the current call on hold and initiates a call with the transfer destination to confirm whether the call is wanted or not. The two calls are then merged together.

Add Call

Places the current call on hold momentarily and adds another active call (three-way conferencing).

Cancel

Cancels the current action.

Merge Calls

Merges two active calls together (three-way conferencing).

Swap Calls

Swaps between two active calls.

Get Started

1. Click here to go to the Google Play Store.

2. Tap the Jive Mobile app.

3. Tap [INSTALL].

The app will then appear on the home screen.

Device Settings

Settings Tab

Ring and Vibration

Adjust Ringer Volume
Sets the volume for the ringtone (independent from the device’s ringer).

Select Ringtone
Defines the default ringtone for all incoming calls.

Location Based Rules (Beta)

Defines how the app behaves when the device enters or exits a specified location boundary (geo-fencing). For example, if you want to prevent taking work calls when you are home, etc.

Map

Enable Calling

Block Incoming Calls

Blocks all inbound calls to the line.

Cellular Data

Disables the app from using cellular data. When enabled, the device must be connected to an approved Wi-Fi network.

Allow Intercom

Enables the line to receive incoming intercom calls from other lines on the system. Intercom is a feature that automatically answers the call and puts it on speaker, unless the app is set to do not disturb.

Mute Microphone
Mutes the microphone automatically when the line is dialed as an intercom (* + ext).

Show Favorite's Presence

Incoming Calls

Caller ID
