Jive Desktop

Jive Desktop merges your phone with Redtail CRM (customer relationship management). When someone calls you, Jive Desktop automatically searches the caller ID within Redtail and returns any customer records that match. Quickly add call notes or an activity to a customer’s record, launch their account within Redtail, or create a new contact all without leaving the app.

Setup Required

Before you can use Jive Desktop, you must have a registered JiveID and at least one device assigned to you by a system admin.

Install the App

1. Download Jive Desktop for your operating system:

2. Open and run the downloaded the install file.

3. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Access the App

1. Open Jive Desktop.

2. Click [SIGN IN].

3. Enter your Email Address (JiveID) and Password.

4. Click [LOGIN].

Tip: Click [Sign in with Google] or [Sign in with Microsoft] to log in with single sign-on (SSO). For this to work, your JiveID must match your Google or Office 365 email address respectively (contact a system admin for assistance).

Basic Navigation

Phone

= Toggles between the keypad and your Redtail contact directory.

Note: Jive Desktop does not work like a softphone. When you initiate a call from the app, it first sends the call to your Jive phone, waits for you to pick it up, and then finally completes the call to the outbound number.

History

Displays your call history.

Active Calls

Integrates your current call with Redtail. Add call notes or an activity to a customer’s record, launch an account within Redtail, or create a new contact.

Settings

Displays settings for Jive Desktop including line options and Retail integration.

To integrate with Redtail, you must select your line and log in to Redtail.

Line

Defines which line is used make calls and integrate with Redtail.

Redtail CRM

Links Jive Desktop by signing in with your Redtail credentials.

Link Redtail to Jive Desktop

1. Click the settings icon in the left sidebar.

2. Select your Line.

3. Click Redtail CRM to login to Redtail.

4. Enter your Redtail Username and Password.

5. Click [Login].

 

Redtail Directory and Click to Call

Use Jive Desktop to call your customers. When you initiate a call from the app, it first sends the call to your Jive phone, waits for you to pick it up, and then finally completes the call to the outbound number.

Active Call Options

Launch customer record

Opens the customer record in your web browser.

Search Redtail

Searches Redtail for customer records.

Recent

Shows recent activity on the customer record.

Log

= Creates a call note on the customer record.

= Creates an activity on the customer record.

Create new contact

= Creates a new customer record based.
