As your organization changes, you may need to adjust the amount of digits in your extensions (min=3, max=6)—maybe you’ve grown so much you’re running out of extension numbers. Though this process is simple, there’s a possibility of creating duplicate or invalid extensions as a result. To help you avoid disrupting calls, you will be notified of these errors before you can continue.

Note: All extensions must be the same length.

1. Click System Settings in the left sidebar.

2. From the General tab > Extensions section, click [CHANGE…].

3. Enter a New Length for extensions.

If Increasing Extension Digits:

4. Enter Filler digits to be added to existing extensions.

5. Select where to Add Filler To (left or right).

6. Click [CHECK] to verify there are no duplicate or invalid extensions. If there are any discrepancies, a list of extensions with those errors will be displayed.  These errors must be corrected before continuing.

7. Click [CHANGE].

If Reducing Extension Digits:

4. Select where to Remove Digits From (left or right).

5. Click [CHECK] to verify there are no duplicate or invalid extensions. If there are any discrepancies, a list of extensions with those errors will be displayed.  These errors must be corrected before continuing.

6. Click [CHANGE].
