Directing a phone number tells the system where to route callers who dial that phone number—it’s like adding an address to an envelope. Phone numbers can be directed to any type of extension on the system including lines, ring groups, conference bridges, call queues, dial plans, shared voicemail boxes, and virtual fax machines. Additionally, phone numbers can be routed to other phone numbers on the system, which is helpful if all phone numbers need to arrive at the same endpoint, like a call center.

2. Click the phone number that needs to be directed.

3. From the General tab > Behavior section, choose Extension and then browse for and select the desired destination.
