Conference bridges allow up to 20 participants to join a call simultaneously allowing you to have meetings with anyone, no matter where they’re located. A conference bridge can be accessed through an auto-attendant option, a direct phone number, a direct transfer, or by dialing an internal extension.

Conference Bridge Settings

To access the settings for a conference bridge, click Conference Bridges in the left sidebar and then click the conference bridge you would like to configure.

General Tab



Extension Number

Three to six digit number that identifies the conference bridge and makes it dialable.


Name by which the conference bridge is identified.

Omit from Directory

Removes the conference bridge from all dial by name directories.

Note: This setting only omits the extension from your dial by name directories. It does not omit the extension from directories found in the end user portal, Jive Mobile, etc. or prevent the extension from being dialed from an auto attendant (allow extension dialing).

Omit from Auto Attendant Extension Dialing

Removes the conference bridge from auto attendant extension dialing.

Note: This setting only omits the extension from being dialed within an auto attendant. It does not omit the extension from directories found in the end user portal, Jive Mobile, etc. or prevent the extension from being searched within a dial by name directory.


Allows Visual Conferencing to dial a local number within the selected region to invite new participants to a conference call.

Note: Participant invites cannot be made to international numbers. For example, if the default region is set to Brazil, and the conference bridge is set to Mexico, you would only be able to invite participants within Mexico.

Announce New Participants

Requires participants to record their name before entry; participants are then announced once they have joined/left the conference bridge.

Enable Waiting Room

Prevents participants from entering the conference bridge until a host arrives.

Participants Enter Conference Muted

Mutes all participants upon entry to the conference bridge.

End Conference When Last Host Leaves

Removes all participants from the conference bridge once the last host exits.


Participant PIN

Numerical password required for a participant to join the conference bridge.

Host PIN

Numerical password required for a host to join the conference bridge. Hosts have additional in-call conference features.

Note: The Host PIN is required to use Visual Conferencing.

Visual Conference

Copy shareable Visual Conference link to clipboard

Copies the Visual Conferencing link to the clipboard to be shared with other participants.

Note: A participant PIN is required for participants to join via dial-out (conference bridge calls the participant to join).

Open Visual Conference

Initiates Visual Conferencing; host pin required to enter.


  • A host PIN is required to enable the link to launch conference.
  • Visual Conferencing is not compatible with Microsoft Edge or Internet Explorer 11.
Show Conference Phone Numbers

Visual Conferencing Only – Displays the phone number used to access the conference bridge.

Note: A phone number must be directed to the conference bridge to enable this feature.

Recording Tab

It is your responsibility to understand call recording laws for your area. See Call Recording Privacy Policy and Notices for more information.

Before you can enable call recording, your remote storage must be setup.


Call Recording

Record Conference Calls

Enables recording of all conference calls. Recorded calls will be saved to your remote storage.

Note: If call recording is enabled on a PBX or phone number and on a conference bridge, multiple copies of the call will be recorded. The conference bridge will generate a recording that starts when the first participant enters and ends when the last participant exits. Additionally, a separate recording will be created from the perspective of each participant.
