Forward your extension to any cell phone, landline, or co-worker with Jive’s call forwarding. The easy-to-use, web-based interface allows you to configure the call forwarding feature quickly and easily. Plus, your failback settings provide automatic call forwarding in the event of an emergency. If your internet service goes down, calls to your extension will automatically be sent to the specified failback phone number, such as your personal cell phone, a designated landline, or another employee.

How Does Call Forwarding Work?

Jive’s call forwarding lets you make it easy to forward incoming calls to an internal extension or an outside number. Simply use the star code system to override your line’s dial plan.


How to set up call forwarding

Follow these steps to override the call forwarding settings that are configured in your phone’s menu:

  • 1. Dial *72 from your Jive phone.
  • 2. Listen for the dial tone and enter your forwarding destination. This can be an internal extension or an external number.
  • 3. When finished, just hang up.

How to disable call forwarding

Follow these steps to disable call forwarding and keep the settings configured in your phone’s menu:

  • 1. Dial *73 from your Jive phone.
  • 2. Hang up.

Types of Call Forwarding

Jive’s call forwarding feature lets you redirect any incoming calls to an internal extension or an external number. Choose from four different call forwarding options.

  • Call Forward All forwards all incoming calls.
  • Call Forward Busy forwards any calls that come in while you’re on another call.
  • Call Forward No Answer forwards all unanswered calls.
  • Call Forward Ring (softkey) displays the option to forward an incoming call.

Yes, you can. Simply log into the end user portal and set your Find Me/Follow Me settings to forward all your calls immediately to your cell phone.

How do Call Forwarding and Jive’s Find Me/Follow Me differ?

Call forwarding and Jive’s Find Me/Follow Me are similar, but have some important differences. Call Forwarding automatically forwards the call to one preset number or internal extension. It is set up using a star code system that can override your pre-configured settings.
