Jive’s E911 solution automatically associates a physical address with the caller’s telephone number and routes calls to the most appropriate Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) for that address. It displays the caller’s address and information to the operator immediately upon call arrival, providing emergency responders with the location of the emergency without the caller having to provide it. Jive’s E911 services can send the actual room or office number (as part of the address) to the appropriate PSAP, preventing a scenario where emergency personnel show up to a site but are unable to determine exactly where their services are required on the premises.

In the panic of an emergency a critical detail like an address might slip someone’s mind, or a visitor who never knew the address to begin with may be placing the call. The E911 feature ensures that authorities will know where to go regardless of who manages to reach the phone.
Do I need to do anything to ensure the address sent to the authorities is accurate?
In order to provide reliable E911 services, Jive requires customers to request, fill out, and return a change request form each time numbers are added, dropped, or changed. Anytime a phone is moved to a new location that location should be registered so authorities will have the most accurate idea of where the emergency is happening.
