 About the Position 

We are looking for a SiteOps Engineer with excellent communication skills to own and manage the relationships required to support our fast-paced growth. Most of the work in the data centers is done via remote hands; therefore, excellent communication skills are required to be successful. This position is responsible for maintaining and owning all documentation around the data centers we use, controlling access to these sites, as well as documenting connections in these sites that include peering connections and internal connections between equipment. Additional work includes: managing contracts, obtaining quotes for new hardware when needed, scheduling and coordinating remote work, and verifying invoice charges from transit peers, data centers, and vendors. This position is located on our SRE team and will be required to work closely with Infrastructure, Network, and Development team members. Network administration background is a major plus including actual management of network devices in production environments. 


What You'll Do

  • Maintain current documentation of our data centers and user ACLs 
  • Ensure invoicing from data centers and transit peers are accurate with Finance team 
  • Work with different teams to order and ship new equipment 
  • Maintain all Vendor relationships 
  • Open trouble tickets with different ISP/transit peers
  • RMA management with different Vendors 
  • Manage the entire lifecycle of servers, storage and network equipment within the facility including receiving, racking, and recycling 
  • Introduce process improvements, develop global standards, promote and encourage best practices in data center operations
  • Maintain accurate reporting and auditing capability for all assets within the data centers
  • Provide cross ­functional communication with other technical operations groups
  • Be available for changes in the evenings or weekends when required
  • Work well within a team and be transparent with tasks and assignments
  • Some travel may be required


What You'll Need

  • Experience with data center hardware deployments 
  • Linux Server Administration 
  • Solid understanding of network protocols and experience troubleshooting network issues 
  • Experience with Asset management and IPAM systems (ex. NetBox, Racktables, etc.) 
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills 
  • Ability to prioritize in complex, fast­-paced environment 
  • Excellent oral and written English skills required
  • Network admin experience in a multi­site production network (a plus)
  • CCNA or similar experience (a plus)
  • Experience with managing servers in production environments (a plus)
  • Understanding of out­ of­ band/lights­out server communication methods, such as IPMI and serial console (a plus)
